The Pastry Book Tag

Hello everybody! I was tagged by the amazing Giselle of Hardwork Boulevard to do this delicious Pastry Book Tag. She writes some really amazing reviews so you should definitely check out her blog. As for the tag, I’m going to give it a twist and make it a Pastry (Historical Romance) Book Tag. 🙂

 Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) loves.

The Hathaways series and The Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas. They are witty and charming and it feels like I know the characters personally.

 Macaron: Name a book that was hard to get through but worth it at the end.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. I found it slow paced at some places and Edmund a bit irritating. But in all, I loved the book.

 Vol-au-vent: Name a book that you thought would be amazing but fell flat.

The Healer’s Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson. The blurb was very promising but the story not so much.

 Pain au chocolat: Name a book that you thought would be one thing but turned out to be something else.

Rules to Catch a Devilish Duke by Suzanne Enoch. The story was extremely enjoyable and I knew that the main characters would end up together but I expected a very different storyline due to the given title.

 Profiterole: Name a book or series that doesn’t get enough attention.

A Lady’s Lesson in Scandal by Meredith Duran. The author deserves a lot more credit than what she gets. Her books are a lot more intense and also historically rich.

 Croquembouche: Name a book or series that’s extremely complex.

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. It’s a bit too complex and twisted for my taste.

 Napoleon: Name a movie or TV show based off a book that you liked better than the book itself.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The movie has a larger than life quality to it. I’m not sure if it can be considered as a romance novel though.

 Empanada: Name a book that was bittersweet.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.

 Kolompeh: Name a book or series that takes place somewhere other than your home country:

I’d go with Giselle for this one as all the historical romances I’ve read are set in places other than India.

 Pate a Choux: Name one food from a book or series that you would like to try.

Even a simple lemon cake seems a lot more drool worthy while reading! Then there’s honey filled scones, strawberry tart with cream, wine with pear in its bottle, cheese pie, mashed potatoes and green gooseberry baked pudding.
