Working Titles of Famous Books

I was under the impression that only movies had working titles until I came across an article regarding The Great Gatsby and its original title! So obviously I hunted down as many working titles of books as I could.

Here are some of our favourite books and what they were almost named:

    I love this post! It’s very creative.

    I must say that the would-have-been title for 1984 wouldn’t have suited the book at all. That’s just judging by the first 84 pages. I couldn’t get through it.
