Rangoli is an art form which is a huge part of Indian culture. It is usually drawn on floors at the entrance of houses on occasions like weddings or festivals in order to welcome good luck and the Goddess Lakshmi. It’s not like we draw anything we want to. It’s a carefully selected pattern- whether it’s going to be a peacock, Ganesha, a flower or diya and what not! and then comes the material! nowadays we can easily get colours but earlier rice powder, coloured saw dust, turmeric, vermilion and similar stuff was majorly used.
Now I can do it quite easily, but when I started making them I had to struggle a lot in order to find designs that were easy as well as gorgeous. Hence, in order for you to avoid the same, I have a collection of designs that are simple yet beautiful.
